Job Description

Digital Content Manager

Lincoln Center Theater is committed to creating exceptional digital experiences that reflect the artistry and impact of our work on and off the stage. The Digital Content Manager will oversee the organization's digital presence across owned channels, ensuring that audiences have engaging and inspiring access to information about our productions, artists, programs, and institutional initiatives. This role will also support content creation across social media and email marketing, helping to strengthen audience engagement and deepen relationships with audiences throughout the customer journey.

The ideal candidate is an organized, detail-oriented storyteller with strong editorial instincts, creative sensibility, and technical proficiency. They should be equally comfortable publishing website content, writing and editing copy, collaborating on multimedia assets, and leveraging CRM tools to deliver targeted communications that expand the reach and impact of Lincoln Center Theater.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of Lincoln Center Theater's website, ensuring all production pages, institutional content, blogs, multimedia assets, press updates, and audience information are accurate, current, and engaging.
  • Maintain content across all digital properties, coordinating updates related to productions, ticketing, events, membership, fundraising, education, accessibility, and organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Press, Development, Artistic, and external partners to publish timely and compelling digital content that supports institutional priorities.
  • Write, edit, proofread, and optimize website copy to ensure consistency in voice, clarity, accessibility, and search optimization.
  • Assist in the development and execution of digital storytelling through multimedia content, including photography, video, interviews, blogs, and behind-the-scenes features.
  • Support the Social Media Manager by editing video, creating digital assets, assisting with content capture, and contributing creative ideas for platform-specific storytelling.
  • Build and deploy email marketing campaigns in collaboration with the Design Manager and Marketing team, ensuring quality assurance, accuracy, and timely delivery.
  • Manage CRM audience segmentation to support targeted email campaigns, membership communications, production marketing, fundraising initiatives, and audience development efforts.
  • Monitor website performance in collaboration with advertising agency, email engagement, and other digital analytics, providing insights and recommendations to improve audience experience and campaign effectiveness.
  • Ensure all digital content reflects Lincoln Center Theater's brand standards and editorial voice across platforms.
  • In addition, this role will handle additional duties as assigned and required. This position will work in lockstep with members of the Marketing, Press, Development, and Artistic departments. A nimble energy, solution-oriented mindset, and enthusiastic drive to work positively at a quick pace is essential.
  • Photography skills are a plus.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing website content, digital communications, or content marketing for a brand, arts organization, or cultural institution.
  • Experience working with content management systems (CMS) to publish and maintain website content with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to adapt voice and tone for multiple audiences and communication channels.
  • Experience building and deploying email marketing campaigns using CRM or email marketing platforms, with familiarity in audience segmentation and list management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of digital content strategy, user experience, accessibility standards, and SEO best practices.
  • Experience editing digital media, including basic video and image editing using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines.
  • A proactive mindset is critical. Recognizing that thoughtful planning is just as important as responsiveness, this role requires someone who anticipates content needs, identifies opportunities, and helps move projects forward.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and quality control.
  • Familiarity with website analytics, email performance metrics, and digital reporting tools is preferred.
  • A strong interest in theater and the theatrical industry at large is a bonus for anyone interested in this position.
