The Fleet Legal team provides dedicated legal support for Amazon's fleet of linehaul trucks, hostlers, trailers, delivery vans, and ebikes—one of the largest and most complex private fleets in the world. Our work spans:• Vehicle procurement and leasing (ICE and electric vehicles)• Fleet technology, telematics, and connected-vehicle platforms• Vendor and supplier management at scale• Electric vehicle (EV) programs and infrastructure• Fleet compliance and regulatory strategy• Delivery and Carrier Partnerships and servicesReporting to the Senior Manager of NA Ops Legal, you will work directly with VP-level leaders and their teams to navigate a wide range of legal issues at the intersection of supply chain operations, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, and risk management. This is a high-impact role with significant autonomy, broad exposure, and the opportunity to shape legal strategy for Amazon’s fastest-evolving fulfillment network.Key job responsibilities• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements including vehicle procurement contracts, fleet services agreements, technology vendor agreements, and SaaS/licensing deals.• Serve as the primary legal partner to assigned business leaders, proactively identifying legal risks and providing practical, business-oriented guidance.• Advise on a broad range of legal matters including commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, data privacy, intellectual property, and operational risk.• Manage outside counsel engagements, including matter scoping, budget oversight, and work product review.• Support cross-functional initiatives across fleet operations, supply chain, finance, and public policy teams.• Develop and maintain playbooks, templates, and self-service resources to scale the team’s impact and enable faster deal execution.• Monitor and analyze regulatory developments in transportation, fleet safety, EV policy, and related areas.• Contribute to the team’s culture and operational improvements through knowledge sharing, process enhancements, and mentoring.Basic qualifications- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent- 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience- Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalentPreferred qualification - Experience as in-house attorneyAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
